Welcome to Christmas at the Shoulder of Mutton. We have a marvelous menu for you this year. Outstanding!

Throughout December we will also be offering the full Main Menu and Lunch Menu. However, we cannot promise to have everything that is listed. If you would like to have a particular dish, please ask when booking and we will try to accomodate you.

Please be aware we do not offer this menu on Sundays. The Sunday Lunch menu is extremely popular in it's own right.

Christmas Experience Menu 2017

Selection of rolls for the table.


Red capsicum and Lime soup with parmesan croutons.  V

 White crabmeat and prawn salad with pink grapefruit, watercress and cucumber salad, drizzled with dill vinaigrette.

 Home-cooked ham and chestnut terrine with quince membrillo and Focaccia wafers.

 Warm goats cheese, asparagus and sundried tomato tart, with bitter sweet orange chutney and a crunchy Waldolf salad.  V


Roast Turkey served with all the traditional trimmings.

Spicy Peruvian Mutton casserole served with a wild rice medley.

Grilled Hake fillet served with a creamy mussel and garlic, white wine, sauce.

 Mushroom, shallot and squash pie, served with creamed potato and vegetables. V

* The above dishes are served with seasonal vegetables for your table *


Chocolate Orange Baileys Créme Brûlée.

Local cheeses served with biscuits and spiced pear chutney.

 An individual serving of Christmas Pudding with brandy sauce.

 Oh so popular- Winter Mess– poached pears, apricots, cherries and plums combined with Chantilly cream and meringue– delicious!


Freshly ground Coffee or Tea with Chocolate Mints.

£28.95 per person, with the following price options:

*As a 3 course set menu,

*As a 2 courses set menu, plus a large glass of house wine,

* Or, for large groups, a starter platter, main dish each and dessert each.


A discretionary 10% service charge will be added to the bill. Prices held for the past 3 years.
