Christmas Day Extravaganza 2018

 Christmas Day at the Shoulder of Mutton is one very splendid day indeed. With many repeat customers returning year on year. Unfortunately we are now FULL.

The Menu

     *Assorted white and brown rolls and fresh herb butter.


* Guinea Fowl Cock-a-Leeky soup   V

*Blue cheese croquettes with Waldorf salad and fig chutney   V

 *Pan-fried Queen Scallops, celeriac purée and pistachio vinaigrette.

 *Smoked Duck Breast, apple and white radish remoulade and beetroot purée.


Champagne and lemon sorbets.


*Roast Goose, Madeira gravy, apricot stuffing and roast potatoes.

 *Monkfish wrapped in smoked salmon, served with Chablis velouté and wild rice.

 *Free range Organic white turkey infused with cider and spices, with all the traditional Christmas trimmings and cranberry and maple compote.

 *Trio of Lamb– fillet, cutlet, comfit of shoulder, served with recurrent and Rosemary jus and Dauphinoise potatoes.

 **All  dishes will be served with vegetables for your table– Maple roast root vegetables and roast spouts with Bacon lardons and chestnuts **

***A vegetarian option is available on request***


 *Dark chocolate and hazelnut roulade, blackcurrant sorbet.

 *Local cheeses served with Biscuits, Quince membrillo and Port.  

 *An individual serving of Christmas Pudding with hot brandy laced custard. 

 *Brandy Snap basket filled with berry compote and Cointreau, orange Chantilly cream.


Freshly ground coffee or tea, served with  French macaroons.



£80.00  per person, £45.00 per child under 12 years, a separate menu is available on request.

  A discretionary 10% service charge will be added to the bill.
